Lendlease Podium Strikes ‘Digital Twin’ Partnership With ThoughtWire

Global property giant, Lendlease, has inked a partnership with Toronto-based digital twin expert, ThoughtWire, that involves the rollout of a collaborative software and services offering.

The alignment of the two companies is synergistic and timely - the partnership is currently active on the Milan Innovation District project (MIND) - and shares a common purpose: a mission to bring the built environment to life, according to Steve Bird, Lendlease Podium product manager.

MIND is a major new precinct for science, knowledge, technology and innovation. It’s a multi-phased, mixed-use redevelopment featuring office, residential, retail, research, university and public space.

Bird said the blend of Lendlease Digital and ThoughtWire technologies is significant.

“The partnership combines Lendlease’s Podium Property Insights platform and ThoughtWire’s PrecisionHub and LocationSense products, to strengthen our collective ability to go to market in the commercial office, retail and healthcare sectors globally,” said Bird.

In fact, the new collaboration brings together enhanced solutions covering both sides of an Operational Digital Twin.

“We’re pairing the strength of ThoughtWire’s PrecisionHub in connecting live systems, operational data processing and building automation with Podium Property Insights deep analytical and insights capabilities and real estate asset information expertise that can not only generate intelligent recommendations for customers, but execute the automation required to implement them.”

What’s more, Bird said the partnership enhances Lendlease’s ability to integrate and automate building systems based on sophisticated insights to deliver better outcomes for customers in terms of operational efficiency, sustainability and user experience.

“It will enable our vision of truly Autonomous Buildings. For ThoughtWire, Lendlease is a partner that will allow us to jointly deliver property insight and digital twin products and services for customers across multiple industry verticals and at a global scale.”

On the vertical front, meanwhile, ThoughtWire is no stranger to the healthcare sector, according to Bird, who said the company has evolved and already proven its technology in that sector.

“ThoughtWire’s ability to process and automate live data from a wide range of sources in a reliable and structured fashion sets them apart from other vendors in the market given the mission criticality that is required to deal with clinical workflows such as code blue calls,” he said.

By orchestrating data from people, processes, and the physical built environment, ThoughtWire's built environment Digital Twin delivers smarter, safer and more efficient hospitals, commercial buildings, and cities.

In essence, organisations can unlock the true potential of data in their built environment by combining people, processes and connected devices for a safer and better world.

So, what can we expect from the new partnering duo in the future?

Bird said watch out for smarter collaboration across the autonomous buildings front, which will see a world that can adapt and respond to human needs and behaviour thanks to the power of connected data.

“ThoughtWire and Podium together aim to bring the future of true operational digital twin technology to life, leveraging property knowledge, insights, simulations and automation capabilities to deliver real value to the real estate market. Together, we will enable our vision of truly Autonomous Buildings.”
