So my building is cooled by sea water. How does this actually happen?

We cool sea water via our District Cooling Plant. Building cooling systems typically make up 30-40% of the commercial office base building green house emissions. With Sea Water AC delivered by District Water Plants we are aspiring to reduce this down to 25-30%. And by removing cooling towers from the top of the building, we now have plenty of space for renewable energy sources such as solar panels, and the opportunity to create the newest community in town: Our Insect Hotels. Cool right!

You can find out more by reading our District Cooling Plant overview document.

What is the difference between drinking water and recycled water?

Drinking water, also referred to as potable water is fit for human consumption. Recycled water is treated waste water. This is best for gardens, irrigation systems and toilet flushing.

Can you help me understand more about how we are billed?

When you are billed for electricity, you pay for two key components. The first is access to the network and the second is your consumption of the electricity created by this network. Today, when you select your retail provider which enables you to use electricity you will receive an aggregated bill combining the cost of accessing the network, with the cost of the electricity you have consumed.

Network Charges

What are the rates for access to the network?

Great question. Here are the rates for access to the embedded network. If you receive an aggregated bill from your preferred energy retailer these costs are included in their bill today.
