Google Cloud recently announced that international property and infrastructure group Lendlease selected it as its primary cloud partner to launch Podium, its new property lifecycle platform. The newly launched Podium platform is designed to “simply the interdependencies in the built world,” according to Google.

“Hybrid work is working in two places and getting the most out of both,” Lendlease Digital CEO Bill Ruh told GlobeSt.com. “Employers need to find out if their offices are attractive (to hybrid workers) and whether they are set up for hybrid work.”

“The ability to meeting person, to collaborate, to exchange ideas is he future purpose of the office” says Colin Dominish, “we still need our ability to get in front of people and talk, in ways we just can’t do online. So there is a lot that employers need to think about as they work through this change process to go - how do I create that new environment that supports this new dynamic?”.

Situated in Milan, Italy it is a 100 hectare redevelopment on the Expo 2015 site and will be its research and innovation hub. Lendlease has created its own metaverse which is a virtual replica of MIND.
Given the rapid pace of change cities have already undergone, what will tomorrow’s cities look like, realistically? Not all cities will forge ahead at the same pace, of course. Places that are already part of wealthy, developed economies will be better positioned to take advantage of emerging tech while others will get left behind. Even so, technology will certainly change the way cities look and function.
